Really fun to hop around the galaxy with Leda, the heroine of “Lunar Seed” by Em Vega. It is smart and humorous, but with suspenseful plot twists that keep you turning pages. I loved the quirky characters. Not usually a sci-fi reader, but the off-world settings were imaginative and worked for me. Looking forward to the next in the series.

“Sage Pineblossom” is a fun read for my grandkids who love Santa and especially fairies and elves. Plants the seeds in the form of a creative story to not fear change and have an open heart. Very sweet illustrations too!

Clawed is…an entertaining fast paced spy adventure that follows a flamboyant super cat and his team. It’s a fun read that will hold the attention of children, as well as tap the child in us all. We look forward to the sequel.

Sage Pineblossom:

Klama presents her young readers with a lively tale that effectively captures the free-flowing, one-thing-after-another manner of an actual child telling a story. Levine’s accompanying illustrations suit the events of the story and add some additional details regarding characters’ appearances and the North Pole setting. A quick and often charming read for the holiday season.

Clawed: the Spy Cat

In the course of his cool and fun narration, there are tender moments when Kid’s soft side emerges, displaying his growing affection for “cute” Clawed and his respect and admiration for Kelli. There is an easy balance between dialogue between the characters and Kid’s descriptions of events and observations. As the adventure amps up, so does the pace of the prose, with chapters ending on cliffhangers that make the book hard to put down.

An adventure full of puns—a little mind-bending and a lot of fun.
